Villa Sparina
Villa Sparina is located in Monterotondo, the heart of Gavi DOC. Villa Sparina is a family estate in the Gavi district of Piedmont, an area that has specialized in growing Barbera and most notably the white grape Cortese for more than 1000 years. The owners, the Moccagatta family, produce exquisite wines from all these local grapes. The vineyards are overseen by agronomist Federico Curtaz, formerly of Gaja. Villa Sparina is now well recognized for its impressive quality by Italian guide books and international magazines. It is also famous for its unique bottle shape, replica of the first wine bottled in the estate at the 18th century.
