Salcheto

Founded in 1984, in Tuscany, Montepulciano (Siena), Salcheto is now a vineyard of over 60 hectares of organically farmed grapes, operating in one of the most ecologically advanced wine cellars to make sustainable local wines.
The winery was the first in the world to certify a wine bottle’s carbon footprint, to cut emissions by 59% with its lightweight “Bordolese Toscanella” (360g).
The facilities use only natural light, achieve full energy independence through solar, geothermal, and biomass systems, and recycle 100% of wastewater.
